General Information
To ensure you receive the healthiest livestock available and to reduce the travel stress on your ordered livestock, your order livestock
will be shipped Fedex overnight to your door. If you have also ordered Live Rock, Live Sand, or aquarium supplies, they are
shipped separately . Special Note: We cannot ship any livestock to Hawaii, APO addresses, Post Office Boxes, Puerto Rico, other
U.S. Territories, or other countries.
Tracking Information
The day your order ships, you will receive an e-mail containing your tracking number. You can then make arrangements to sign for
your order upon scheduled arrival.
Guarantee Void if No Signature on Delivery
Please note, our 14 day guarantee requires this signature. Checked electronically, no signature no guarantee on your order. It is
the buyers responsibility to look for the Fedex delivery truck and make arrangements for your order not to be left in the heat or cold
outside. If you are worried that this may happen, Fedex suggests that you leave a note on the door for the delivery person to ring your
bell and wait for you to come out. They gladly will follow your request.
Acclimation Is Most Important!
All livestock orders will include a printed version of our detailed Acclimation Instructions. To ensure the good health of your new
arrivals, you may wish to get a head start on learning the procedures and make sure everything is on hand. Please follow the steps
outlined on our website carefully. They may differ from your normal acclimation procedures from your local pet store, because the
ordered livestock has been in shipping bags for a much longer time.
Substitutions
Quality Marine Life makes every effort possible to ship your order complete. Due to seasonal availability, daily health inspections
and other considerations, animals are sometimes unavailable for shipment. If the situation arises, Quality Marine Life will ship 75%
of the value of your order, back ordering the out of stock animals. Quality Marine Life may also substitute the unavailable animal with
a different size or may substitute with a parallel equivalent animal. A request for No Substitutions, Fill Complete, and/or a
Substitution List may be requested when ordering. This may result in a shipping delay.
Backorders
Quality Marine Life will backorder any Live items we are unable to ship. These items will be shipped at no charge when they come
back in stock. If they are out of stock for a long period of time, we will credit back the item to your credit card. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause.
Returns &Other Notes
a)No Returns on Aquarium Livestock - Because of the complex packaging procedures for aquarium livestock and our primary
concern for the health and well-being of all specimens we ship, we cannot accept any returns of any aquarium livestock, no
exceptions. Please make your selections carefully.
b) Returns on Aquarium supplies - Upon receipt of unopened, unused and re-saleable product we will credit you for the returned
items less a 25% restocking fee .
c) No Refunds on Freight Charges - Freight charges are never refunded. If your order was shipped free freight then the freight
charge is calculated as 25% of the livestock selling price or $5.00, whichever is higher.
d) What if my Aquarium Supplies are damaged in shipping? - We apologize greatly for any product that is damaged in shipment and
we will do everything possible to rectify the situation as fast as possible.
e) $20.00 Extra Shipping Charge for fragile items- Unfortunately the shipping companies will no longer honor insurance claims on
fragile items against breakage. To protect our customers, we charge a fragile packaging/ materials fee, which we use to insure that
light systems and light bulbs are delivered safely. This may mean we are double boxing your items. Using an extremely expensive
amount of peanuts. Whatever it takes to get your items to you in one piece is what we do. We further then guarantee all these items
to arrive in good condition. If the item arrives broken, we cover the cost of the replacement unit or units. . Any number of replacement
light bulbs may be ordered and only one $20.00 charge will apply. Each light unit ordered though, will have a $20.00 fee added to
cover the cost of the extra packaging materials necessary.
g) Extra freight charges may apply on heavy or oversize items such as chillers, etc. If you wish to know the charge, inquiries may be
made at the time the order is placed.
h) Fuel Surcharge on shipping - Unfortunately, fuel costs continue to rise. All carriers have opted to add a fuel surcharge. This
charge is not covered in shipping charges since it will be adjusted as often as the freight carrier adjusts it. It is added to all invoices
as a separate charge. The chart below shows the current fuel surcharge.
